Power Transformer Temperature Monitoring
Coordinate top-oil indication, simulated winding temperature, cooling stages and remote signals as one transformer thermal-control scheme.
Plan power transformer temperature monitoringOil-immersed transformer applications
Define the thermal variable, operating decision, signal path and installation interface before selecting an OTI, WTI, BWY, BWR or digital monitoring device.
Coordinate top-oil indication, simulated winding temperature, cooling stages and remote signals as one transformer thermal-control scheme.
Plan power transformer temperature monitoringChoose the required balance of local visibility, cooling control and remote condition data for distribution transformer fleets and compact substations.
Plan distribution transformer temperature monitoringTranslate temperature indication into dependable cooling, alarm and protection actions without confusing contact duty, set point and measured value.
Plan transformer cooling, alarm and trip controlSelect the field signal and receiving architecture that turns transformer temperature into usable, traceable substation data.
Plan substation remote temperature monitoringControl replacement risk by comparing the complete mechanical, electrical and functional configuration instead of matching only the family name.
Plan transformer temperature controller retrofitState whether the project needs transformer top-oil temperature, traditionally simulated winding temperature or another direct measurement. Then define the local display, cooling stages, alarm and trip philosophy, remote interface, receiving equipment and commissioning method.
An OTI follows top-oil temperature at a specified thermometer pocket. A WTI adds a load-current-related thermal simulation. Their contacts and remote tags should retain those identities so operators do not treat unlike values as the same temperature.
After reviewing the application, compare transformer oil temperature indicators, transformer winding temperature indicators and remote monitoring devices.
