Incoming order review
Quality begins by translating the customer requirement into a controlled model configuration. The review compares the model code, temperature scale, switch quantity, output, power supply, capillary, bulb, thread, mounting and special environment requirements.
Replacement projects add another layer. The proposed unit is compared with the existing nameplate, wiring and installation dimensions. Differences should be resolved before shipment rather than left to site improvisation.
Visual and mechanical checks
A practical inspection checks the enclosure, dial, pointer, terminals, cable entries, capillary protection, bulb, thread and supplied accessories. Labels and terminal identification should agree with the approved documents.
Capillary systems deserve careful handling because crushing and sharp bending can cause hidden damage. Packaging and installation instructions should preserve the route and prevent concentrated loads.
Functional verification
The applicable test scope can include indication response, switch operation, transmitter output, Pt100 continuity, supply and communication. The exact method and acceptance values depend on the product and selected configuration.
For a 4-20 mA output, verify the defined temperature scale and receiving-loop assumptions. For RS485, confirm the protocol information required by the selected device. For adjustable contacts, record the function and approved settings during commissioning.
Documents for the project record
Request the current model-specific datasheet, outline drawing and terminal diagram. Keep the selected model, scale, settings and loop test with the transformer equipment record. This documentation makes future troubleshooting and replacement more reliable.
